USL 2

Coach Mitchell has been coaching youth sports for more than 25 years. This is his seventh season coaching boys high school lacrosse.  Chad coached defense at Three Rivers for three years (2011 - 2013).  Each of these years Three Rivers made the playoffs.  Chad has been the head coach of the Richland Lacrosse Club since its formation in 2014.  In 2016, Coach Mitchell’s varsity team made it to the State Finals.  Richland is the first team from Eastern Washington to play for a high-school state championship (DII).  Fifteen of Coach Mitchell’s players have gone on to play college lacrosse (NCAA DII; MCLA DI, DII).  Coach Mitchell played his high school sports at Richland High.  During his senior year (1991), he was an All-State Football Player, Big Nine Defensive Player of the Year, and a team captain.

Coach Mitchell likes to believe he still holds some Bomber football records. He had the opportunity to be coached by a litany of Bomber greats:  Lonnie Pierson, Jim Castleberry, Ben Jacobs, Scott Woodward, Frank Teverbaugh, Mike Niedhold, and Bruce Robertson.  When asked about playing lacrosse growing up, Coach Mitchell notes that it was an east-coast thing.  “All I knew about lacrosse was that it was one of the sports that Jim Brown played.”  Coach Mitchell and his lovely, supportive wife Bonnie have 6 kids, all of which have played or are playing lacrosse.

7-8 Boys Jr Bombers - Assistant Coach

     USL 1

I have coached both hockey and lacrosse for the past five years, starting in lacrosse as an assistant coach with Three Rivers before becoming a head coach of both the 3/4 and 5/6 teams with Three Rivers. Last year I took a break from coaching but am excited to help out as an assistant on the 7/8 team as a level one certified coach. I look forward to helping cultivate our extraordinary players love for lacrosse, teamwork and overall development into extraordinary young men and women.

Coach Colby is entering his 3rd year coaching youth lacrosse, after starting in the Three Rivers program. Colby grew up near Dayton, OH where lacrosse was scarce. He played football, basketball, ran track and threw the shot. During his senior track season, he decided to join his brother on the Wright State University club lacrosse team. He was hooked after the first season and played 4 more years at Wright State.
“I absolutely loved playing lacrosse and knew I'd get involved in coaching one day. We had player-coaches at the club level, and I learned from great players from powerhouse programs in Columbus and Cincinnati. We had a fantastic brotherhood as teammates and more than half our team is coaching today. I was fortunate to develop my lacrosse knowledge from my brother, who started and coached the Fort Collins Unified (CO) program for 17 years." I coach my kids to understand that everyone has a role and can contribute as a player regardless of size, speed, agility, and experience. Making the game fun for our youth ensures they continue playing and growing while enjoying the success from their hard work. We’re looking forward to our first Bomber lacrosse season!

James Hollingswoth IV

5-6 Boys Jr Bombers - Assistant Coach

USL 1

Coach Hollingsworth has been involved in Lacrosse since the late 80's in one form or another.  He played face-off midi in both Colorado and Florida) while in High School and then joined the Army.  While in the Army, he played midi, defense and was a player-coach for his club team at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina.  Coach Hollingsworth and his family recently moved to the Tri-Cities from Upstate New York where he coached for 8 years at the youth level, both for town and competitive travel teams.  He has been involved in both field and box lacrosse and has helped coach players who are now playing D1 and D3 college lacrosse.  Coach Hollingsworth comes to the Richland Bombers program with great expectations not only of himself but of the team and their ability to be successful in their quest towards a common goal.  That goal is simple: Do great things and have fun doing it.  Coach Hollingsworth is a strong advocate of teamwork and it's value not only on the lacrosse field, but in life.

"I love this game.  I love everything about it.  I love watching as the light goes on in a young players head.  I love that moment when a player realizes that he or she will find success on the field, only if they can play as a unit.  When they understand that there is a time to drive and score and a time to pass instead of shoot.  This is the fundamental of team success in lacrosse, and that translates seamlessly into the rest of their lives.  It is our job as coaches to teach them to not only be great individuals, but great teammates.  When we are able to do this, we will have succeeded."

Sean Kendall

3-4 Boys Jr Bombers - Assistant Coach

 USL 1

Coach Sean is beginning his second year as a coach with the Richland program.  Sean grew up in the San Francisco bay area and played club lacrosse in Novato, CA.   After retiring from a 21 year career in the Marine Corps, Sean and his family relocated from Sothern CA to Richland in the summer of 2015.

“After I stopped playing lacrosse, I sort of put it out of my mind to focus on my career.  I had some great memories, and a handful of lessons learned, but my lacrosse days were over, or so I thought.  We (my family and I) rediscovered the sport after moving to Richland.  I was surprised to see kids in our neighborhood running around with lacrosse sticks; something I hadn’t seen in years.  Lacrosse is, once again, a big part of my life.  I’m grateful for the opportunity to share the sport I enjoyed so much with my family.”

Vlad Tyutyunnik

3-4 Boys Jr Bombers - Assistant Coach

USL 1

This is Coach Vlad’s first year with Lacrosse coaching. Previously he has helped out with score keeping and keeping track of the players’ stats during the games. Since then he has been intrigued by this great game. Vlad is planning to gain more experience by being around other coaches and working with the players on regular basis throughout the season. Vlad has two sons that play lacrosse.

“I have played football and basketball throughout my school years. Lacrosse being very versatile sport combining many sporting skills, the speed, the coordination, the power, the precision, and the team spirit made me want to be part of this fast-paced and fun sport.”
